Formed in 2009 by Martin and Craig auditioning for other interested musicians, Münkizünkl is a 5 piece covers band from Kendal, which has evolved into an energetic, fun and entertaining group. We like to engage with the audience and have a following of “regulars” who we often see at our local gigs.
Münkizünkl has had a few different line-ups since forming and is currently: Martin Saunders vocals, Ben Holliday Lead Guitar, Craig Ross Rhythm Guitar and vocals, Sam Tyson Percussion and Pat Driscoll on Bass Guitar.
Our sound engineer is Robbi Fisher who not only helps us get a fantastic sound at our gigs, but also handles logistics by carrying most of the band equipment in her VW Transporter!
We focus on what the audience wants to hear and what gets them singing along and dancing, rather than be self-indulgent playing album tracks that we like, but no-one else has heard of!
Our genre is rock/modern rock but we do include some mainstream Punk tracks for those who like the really upbeat stuff. Our set typically includes tracks from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s, with new tracks being added all the time.
We also perform outside Kendal and include traditional gigs, birthday parties, festivals, anniversaries, bar-mitzvahs and weddings!
We own all our own equipment including instruments, mixing desk, amplification, full PA and lighting and carry public liability insurance.
